“Congress wants to increase tax on beer by 145 percent… This means you might be spending an extra $3 for a case. It doesn’t stop there, with a 20 percent increase in hard liquor sales. Maybe the hardest hit is the wine drinkers. Wine sales would increase by 233 percent. Get ready to shell out an extra $7 for a case of wine. The move is the government’s answer to help pay for the rising cost of healthcare, especially for the millions of uninsured. As part of the proposal, the tea-totallers are not safe either. The government wants to hike the cost of a can of cola with a soda pop tax for soft drinks.”
