6:00 AM: JB’s daughter Raleigh made a snow-woman on the snow day, and it’s still standing, but JB says it looks like it had lap band surgery. Olympics are still leading in the medal count with 28 medals.  Men’s hockey beat Sweden yesterday 2-0, and next we will play Finland. Today is the gold medal game for the women’s hockey.  Shamu killed his trainer yesterday at Sea World in Orlando, FL as people watched.

6:15 AM: Sara likes to call her Grandma Shook who lives in an old folks home in Dallas. Grandma Shook tells it like it is about pretty much every topic Sara brings up. She chimed in this week on Tiger Woods (who she hates) and Olympic figure skater Evan Lysachek (who she loves). Also, Sara asked her in it’s true that there is a lot of “action” going on in the old folks home. Grandma Shook told her that one guy complimented her on her hummingbird feeder in order to get into her apartment, but never made a move on her.

6:30 AM: Four things you need to know. Last night was the 3rd public meeting regarding the possibility of a Bike Boulevard in Austin. Austin City Council will have the final word in a public hearing in May.  The president of Toyota spoke yesterday in a congressional hearing, and he apologized profusely on behalf of his company. Dot’s Place in Pflugerville is closing tomorrow, as Dot in finally retiring from years and years of cooking for Austinites.  Octo-Mom’s evil-sounding laugh was a big topic of discussion on The View yesterday.

6:45 AM: Fact or bull-fact. Did you know that Martin Scorsese considered becoming a priest and entered the seminary at age 14 before deciding to become a filmmaker?  Also, one in ten American men do not own a pair of blue jeans.  One in five American men are six feet or taller.

7:00 AM:  Whose death would be breaking news? The BBC has come out with a list of only 4 people that they think would be breaking news if they passed away. This got us to thinking, in America, who would have to die for the news to break into regularly scheduled TV programming?  A few we came out with and talked about are; President Obama, Bill Gates, Mohammed Ali, and Madonna.

7:20 AM:  Sara’s American Idol recap from last night.  Sara is doing us all a favor and watching American Idol every night and then breaks it all down for us in a two minute recap.  Last night was the first night for the guys to compete, and only two or three were any good. We all think Ellen isn’t doing a very good job as a judge, and the show has been pretty boring this season.

7:25 AM: Yesterday on Oprah the topic was John Edwards’ affair.  She had on his former aide that was there to promote his tell-all book. It got a little racy when they were discussing the details of John’s affair.

7:30 AM: Four things you need to know. Matt Damon and Jake Gyllenhaal both passed on the lead role in Avatar that ended up going to Sam Worthington. Speedy Gonzales is being remade, and George Lopez is going to do the voice. Conan O’Brien is now on Twitter, and got hundreds of thousands of followers in a day. Some of the women on the Olympic ski team are mad at all of the attention Lindsay Vonn is getting.  They don’t like being in her shadow, and are going to the media about it.

8:00 AM: Sandy’s Headlines. A study has come out saying that women are using makeup that is up to 4 years too old and it’s not safe for them. Two segway cops in Naples, Florida got injured when the wheels in their segways got tangled together.

8:10 AM:  Sara’s American Idol recap from last night.  Sara is doing us all a favor and watching American Idol every night and then breaks it all down for us in a two minute recap.  Last night was the first night for the guys to compete, and only two or three were any good. We all think Ellen isn’t doing a very good job as a judge, and the show has been pretty boring this season.

8:25 AM: JB thinks Alex is officially the world’s worst consumer. He recently ordered a laptop, and JB overheard him bitching and moaning yesterday on the phone with the customer service people. He got an incredible deal on the computer, and JB can’t believe he was so upset about the fact that the finish on the computer was glossy and not matte.

8:30 AM: Four things you need to know. The president of Toyota spoke yesterday in a congressional hearing, and he apologized profusely on behalf of his company. Dot’s Place in Pflugerville is closing tomorrow, as Dot in finally retiring from years and years of cooking for Austinites.

8:45 AM: Unknown Poll –23% of women say they would not set up an overweight friend on a blind date because they would be afraid of what the guy would think. Locally, the results were about the same.

9:00 AM: Alex’s mole update. Alex went to get his moles checked out this week and the doctor cancelled on him due to the snow. So, he rescheduled for yesterday and forgot to take his insurance card and was turned away.  So he is going back next week, and hopefully will actually get an appointment so we can stop talking about his moles.

9:15 AM: Sara’s American Idol recap from last night.  Sara is doing us all a favor and watching American Idol every night and then breaks it all down for us in a two minute recap.  Last night was the first night for the guys to compete, and only two or three were any good.
