Okay are you ready for it???….

Doctor McDreamy is leaving Grey’s Anatomy after next season.
D
empsey- the idea of checking out of Seattle Grace after seven years is “bittersweet because it’s been great and a great part of my life. But I can’t see me doing it anymore.” Ellen P. (Meredith Grey) is also  thinking about bailing when her contract ends next season.
Writer Shondra may view this next season as the ‘Last Grey’s Anatomy’ season for all. But if Ellen & Doc McDreamy both leave, then there really isn’t a ‘Grey’s A’, especially if the character the show is about is gone.

1st word the Doctor said when Matthew finally came out..
‘D*mn’. That might seem a bit wrong, but not a surprise if
the mother you were a doctor for was in labor for 2 days and
finally had to have a cesarean. The doc pulled out Matthew Anthony
Maldanado- all 14 lbs of him! Yep 14 lbs. The average weight of a new born is 7.5lbs. Matthew was almost double the size. Can I get a ‘D#mn!’
Story here!

Matthew didn’t make a record though, that sticks with a canadian
women in 1878 who gave birth to a 23lb baby (Double D#mn!) !!  Wonder what word the doc/midwife said then???

I didn’t realize the GB of records have gone back that far. That deserves a ‘D$mn’ too!

6:00 AM: Memorial Day weekend meant 38 blood samples taken in Austin this weekend, and 52 people arrested. One person was charged with a felony for boating while drunk. 4,500-5,000 people in Joplin Missouri have applied for help with housing and they are considering putting them in rental homes 55 miles away from Joplin. FEMA is considering bringing in some trailers, but it’s not yet confirmed. UT Men’s baseball is hosting a regional this weekend. The Jersey Shore cast is in Italy right now and Snooki went to jail to file a police report after she crashed into a traffic patrol car that was escorting her.  Lindsay Lohan is currently on home arrest is is only allowed to leave for medical appointments and to see her parole officer. She isn’t allowed to be outside of her home for any other reason, but she is allowed to have visitors.

6:15 AM: Fact or bull fact—tornadoes. 2% of all tornadoes account for 70% of tornado related deaths. The stronger a tornado is, the longer it lasts—and the longest lasting one was over 3 hours. Tornadoes most commonly happen between 3 and 9 pm. 90% of tornadoes in the northern hemisphere spin counterclockwise. People living in mobile homes are 15 times more likely to die in a tornado than people in regular homes.  The odds of being killed by a tornado are 1 in 5 million. This year is the first year that more than 360 people were killed in tornadoes since 1975.

6:30 AM: 4 things you need to know with Sara. A hit and run that happened Friday morning in Tarrytown, when 30 year old Courtney Griffin was hit by 23 year old Gabrielle Jane Nestande in her BMW.  Griffin was left for dead, and Nestande was arrested by noon that day. Hangover 2 had a 137.4 million dollar opening this weekend, which is the best opening ever for any comedy of any rating. Tony Romo got married over the weekend and some highlights include; a dinner of short ribs and pizza, celebrity gift bags for all guests, guests included Chase Crawford, Jason Whitten, Wade Phillips, Jerry Jones, and Troy Aikman. They left in a vintage Cadillac, the bride wore Badgley Mischka, and the cake was almost as tall as the ceiling.

6:45 AM: Happy Birthday today to Clint Eastwood (81), Joe Namath (68), Tom Beringer (62), Chris Elliot (51), Leah Thompson (50), Brooke Shields (46), and Collin Farrell (35). A man in Bronx New York was arrested. He was so irritated with Charlie Sheen that he started making threats to a local CW affiliate station that shows Two and a Half Men Episodes all the time. He threatened to blow up that station if they didn’t stop showing the episodes, and he was arrested. A drunk driver crashed into a family’s home in Florida. The woman crashed into the room where two little boys were sleeping, they were ejected from the house, and the drunk driver told the dad she would help find his kids if he paid her $1,000. The boys were fine and were found in the backyard under some debris, and the driver was arrested on 4 charges.

6:53 AM: On Sunday afternoon the McIlree family hosted their daughter Landry’s 2nd birthday party. They had a bounce house, which was a lot of fun for the kids, but it scared Sandy a bit because it had a slide in it. They had pizza, an Elmo cake, and a lot of fun.

7:00 AM: Coast to coast news in 60 seconds.

7:10 AM: Book of records. Who has the longest name (most letters)? The winner was Katherine Carruthers with 19 letters in her name.

7:30 AM: 4 things you need to know with Sara. A hit and run that happened Friday morning in Tarrytown, when 30 year old Courtney Griffin was hit by 23 year old Gabrielle Jane Nestande in her BMW.  Griffin was left for dead, and Nestande was arrested by noon that day. They left in a vintage Cadillac, the bride wore Badgley Mischka, and the cake was almost as tall as the ceiling.

7:43 AM: The list of the things women DON’T want to hear their man say about his ex. “She was really low maintenance” , “she loved sports”, “she’s still not over me”, “my parents loved her”, “She used to be a model”, “she broke my heart”, “she was wild in bed”. The ones our listeners added;  “she got really fat”, and “she used to be a Dallas Cowboy’s Cheerleader”.

7:50 AM: On Friday Alex correctly predicted the winner of the Indy 500 which was this weekend. That’s pretty amazing considering there were 33 cars in the race. The guy who won got lucky, because another driver was in the lead and ready to win, but crashed into a wall on his last turn. The winner was Dan Weldon who drives the car sponsored by William Rast—which is Justin Timberlake’s Jeans company.

8:00 AM: Coast to coast news in 60 seconds.

8:10 AM: Speech given by Lt. Colonel Oliver North for Memorial Day yesterday.

They left in a vintage Cadillac, the bride wore Badgley Mischka, and the cake was almost as tall as the ceiling.

8:40 AM: What’s the theme? Alicia Keys, Jay-Z, and Lady Gaga. The theme is all three have done songs with Beyonce.

8:50 AM: Sandy found a great audio clip of Beyonce warming up backstage before the American Idol finale. It’s just her and a keyboard, and Jay-Z shot it on his phone. It truly shows how talented she is, because the vocals are so amazing.

9:30 AM: 4 things you need to know with Sara. A hit and run that happened Friday morning in Tarrytown, when 30 year old Courtney Griffin was hit by 23 year old Gabrielle Jane Nestande in her BMW.  Griffin was left for dead, and Nestande was arrested by noon that day.  There was an officer related shooting overnight when cops rolled up on guys stealing a car, the thieves ran over the cop’s foot, and the cops opened fire on them. The thieves got away, but they followed a trail of blood to the thief who was shot and is now in the hospital. Hangover 2 had a 137.4 million dollar opening this weekend, which is the best opening ever for any comedy of any rating. #1 Reason for this weekend.. Remembrance of
the fallen ones and those who are still giving
their all!! THANK YOU!! YOU ROCK!!

Memorial Day weekend has also become the ‘Unofficial’
start of Summer
(official 1st day 6/21) … with plans for fun
with family…with friends.. eating out, going to movies,
heading to the beach.  Ted laughed at me yesterday when
I said shopping.  Shopping is HUGE on Memorial Day Weekend.
You can run across lots of Great Deals!!
The ‘AAA’ Memorial Day Forecast on everything Memorial Day WKND
says that 43% of peeps go shopping on Memorial Day Weekend.
There’s lots of other cool stats too..

-Memorial Day Holiday Travel Period
For purposes of this forecast the Memorial Day holiday travel period is defined as trips that include travel of 50 miles or
more away from home during the 5 day period from Thursday, May 26 to Monday, May 30.

-34.9 million travelers will journey at least 50 miles from home

- air travel will increase over 11% this year, so much sure you get to the airport, check in, security early..
so you have plenty of time

- TX falls in the West South Central Area-
The Memorial Day holiday travel forecast calls for an increase of 0.7 percent in West South Central (WSC) region holiday
travel relative to last year. Travel is expected to remain relatively steady with record-high gas prices for this time of year
holding back demand on the heels of regional economic recovery. Air and automobile travel are expected to rise by 12.1
percent and 0.7 percent, respectively, since Memorial Day 2010. About 10.4 percent of the WSC population is predicted
to travel this Memorial Day period, which is slightly less than the estimated national frequency of 11.1 percent

-average spent $692  and an average  25% will be spent on ‘SHOPPING” & ‘ENTERTAINMENT..

Here’s some shopping tips that need to follow too. I have a tendency to impulse buy  when
I’m out of town.

1. The HALT Method: This spending prevention plan is based on recognizing the underlying emotions behind retail therapy and encourages consciously considering feelings of Hunger, Anger, Loneliness or Tiredness (HALT) before buying something in an attempt to fill one or many of those needs. It’s the reason you shouldn’t go to the grocery store when you’re hungry, and it’s why a new pair of shoes seems like a necessity the day you get dumped.

2. The Stranger Test: This is a terrific means for reminding yourself that a dollar is a dollar is a dollar. Picture a stranger offering you the cash value of the item you’re considering buying, or the item itself. Would you take the cash or the item? If you’re dying for a $3 cup of coffee, you may stick with the plan. If you’re eying a $600 handbag, then realize if a stranger handed you $600, it’s a couple of car payments, you might think twice about splurging on the purse.

3. The $100 Rule: It’s a simple idea: The higher the price of an item, the more you should think before buying it. Specifically, take the potential expenditure and divide it by $100 to get the total number of days you should think it over. For example, a $300 grill would be contemplated for three days, but you’d give a couple of weeks thought to it before buying a $1,400 laptop.

Stores where Big Bargains can be found..

Major retailers in standalone stores and traditional malls are starting to unveil their Memorial Day plans. DailyFinance will continue to update this list, so let us know if you spot or score any exceptionally good deals.

Walmart (WMT):
The everyday low price champ will stay true to its mantra — look for compelling deals on everything from beach to barbecue gear and rock-bottom food prices.

Macy’s (M): We got in touch with Macy’s and they’ve tipped us off that there will be a series of two-day specials on luggage, blenders, men’s polo shirts, women’s sandals, and select bras. Standard Macy’s fare.

Sears (SHLD):
Its six-day Memorial Day sale began Thursday. Watch for name-brand appliance discounts and heavy Lands End merchandising, complimented by fact that Lands End bathing suit catalogs landed in old-fashioned mailboxes this week.

Home Depot (HD):
If you’re looking to get some work done around the house, they’re having a Memorial Day paint sale with $5 per gallon off for paint and stain.

Hollister (ANF):
All swimwear for “dudes” and “Bettys” is 30% off. The bikinis are adorable and the men’s bathing suits seem to be well-constructed enough to hold up over time.

L.L. Bean:
Offering 70% off select footwear including trendy and sporty sandals for a limited time.

Target (TGT): We spoke with Target and they have revealed their weekly circular is featuring a Slushy Maker for $16 and — much to this mother’s chagrin — NERF Super Soakers for $14. They also have a ton of melamine plates and tumblers for $1.99 and folding chairs for $9. Their “Weekly Wow” promotion is on bottles and cans of Pepsi.
Lowe’s (LOW): The hardware giant is offering free delivery on mowers, grills and patio furniture of $249 or more. They’ve also got a 3-foot-by-5-foot United States flag for $7.
J.C. Penney (JCP): Their sales are all about timing and seem focused on getting customers on the front end of the weekend with “door buster” deals on Friday beginning at 3 p.m. through Saturday at 1 p.m. Be sure to bring this coupon.
Gap: Their website is incredibly sale-centric. Enter the promo code: GAPSAVE to get an extra 30% off some existing sale prices. They also tend to have surprise in-store sales, and have posted an invite on Facebook for 40% off.
Old Navy: They’re touting clothes starting at $6 online and in-store, and “flip flop fever” with certain styles as low as $2.50.

Have a Happy & Safe Memorial Day Weekend!
