Got work out outfit, tennis shoes, drumsticks…
Pound Class is the newest creation out of L.A mixing
exercises from Boot camp and Pilates with Drum
Sticks. You are pounding your sticks while and as
a work out! Read up on ‘Pound’! I’m out of breath and
my muscles hurt just reading about it!

Using weighted drumsticks or wooden ones provided in the class, members smack the ground repeatedly to a fast-paced soundtrack of hip-hop and rock songs

I don’t think I’m coordinated enough for this one, but it should burn some calories.  Couldn’t you see Tommy as a ‘Guest Pound’ instructor. He would be brutal!!

Today the Austin city council members  will consider whether to endorse the Formula 1 race

  • The endorsement will give organizers the means to secure $25 million in state subsidies.
  • The vote was delayed last Thursday – one of the reasons was the environmental terms.

“... Emily Maynard has not blamed  Brad Womack for the dissolution of their relationship, he is taking complete responsibility for the couple’s downfall. “The demise of our relationship was completely my fault,” the 38-year-old told People.  But Maynard insists that neither party was totally responsible for their break-up and the pair still has a great amount love and respect for one another. “Just because we love each other doesn’t mean we’re right for each other,” she cooly said.”

New survey came out asking bosses what employee
habits annoy them the most!

*Blogging w/their picture might be another ‘dis-like’
for next years survey!

Top 2 things (to stop doing):
#1-  Sloppy Grooming- 40%
#2- Talking on the phone to much w/ family %29

Other annoying things were- messy work areas, smelling like cigarette smoke after a break…
Selling/fundraising for their kids was on the list, but only 1% of the vote. Most bosses don’t want
to miss out on their Girl Scout Cookies.

*Looking for a flexible job/hours- Finland is high on the list for countries who do a flex-time schedule-92% of their firms!
The U.S. came in at 79%, which isn’t bad.

Another tibit: Online coupons  are  HUGE!!

eMarketer reports that by the end of the year, nearly half of adult U.S. Internet users (88.2 million people) will have redeemed an online coupon or code either online or offline in the past 12 months.  By 2013, that number will reach 96.8 million adults.

Here’s more 411

6:00 AM: Another panel shattered on the W hotel yesterday, making for the third incident in weeks. The City is meeting today with the Circuit of the Americas to see if the F1 track will be built after all or not. Governor Perry is making a trip to California this weekend to talk to potential donors of his rumored campaign run for U.S. President. Cedar Park has decided to postpone their fireworks display this week.
America Ferrera got married to her long time boyfriend. Entourage is back for their final season this fall and yesterday was the final day of shooting for the cast.

6:20 AM: Texas has the lowest # of vanity license plates of any state in the U.S.  9.3 million U.S. vehicles do have them however. Texas is the first state to start auctioning off the best one word plates. “Ferrari” sold for $15,000. “Porsche” went to $7,500, and “America” went for $3,000. The most expensive plate ever sold was in Abu Dabi and that plate said “1” on it. 10 years ago JB saw a Porsche 911 that said “3rdIPO”. The most popular state for plates is Virginia, followed by New Hampshire and Illinois. People with vanity plates and bumper stickers are more likely to honk, tailgate, and have road rage.

6:30 AM: 4 things you need to know with Sara. 6,000 people will move to Austin in July and August, making our population growth 2x the national average.  Tom Petty says that Republican Candidates cannot play his songs during their campaign. Michelle Bachmann played “American Girl” on the day that she announced her candidacy, and he told her not to anymore. Google is trying to go after Facebook with Google+, a new social networking site. Shia Lebouf says he hooked up with Megan Fox while they filmed the first Transformers, and at that time she was dating Brian Austin Green, who she is now married to.

6:45 AM: Happy Birthday today to Garey Busey (67), Fred Grandy who played Gopher on The Love Boat (63), Jeff Burton (44), and Nicole Sherzinger (33). Common health myths people still believe. Using the hand dryer in a public bathroom is more sanitary than paper towels, but in reality the bathroom germs are sitting in the dryer and it blasts them all over your hands. Sitting too close to the TV will hurt your eyes, which is no longer true today. In the 1950’s TV’s gave off radiation, but not anymore. Warm milk will help you sleep, but in reality you’d have to drink tons to make it work. Hydrogen peroxide is good for cleaning cuts, but in reality it slows down the healing process.

6:53 AM: 2 minute topic—does radio make you smarter? We don’t know about smarter, but we know if makes us happier. Sara, JB and Cass all had great memories of growing up and listening to the radio.

7:00 AM: Coast to coast news in 60 seconds.

7:05 AM: Anyone listening who was in a bank while it was robbed, or anyone listening who has ever hit those big orange barrels you see diving a highway?  One man was in a bank while it was robbed, but he said the whole thing was very calm and not at all like what you see in the movies. He said he was able to sneak out when then robber was sitting down, and the police made him go to a nearby safe place.  A woman said she hit two of those barrels on the highway and all that happened was her car got a good washing because they’re filled with water.

7:20 AM: Annie Lennox “Walking on Broken Glass”, Pink “Raise Your Glass”, and Blondie “Heart of Glass”. The theme is broken glass (falling from The W Hotel).

7:30 AM:  4 things you need to know with Sara. Jennifer Lopez is saying she might not return to American Idol, and the rumored possible replacements are Shania Twain and Shakira. Larry King is no longer on CNN, but he is doing a one hour special about Harry Potter on July 10th. Another panel shattered on the W hotel yesterday, making for the third incident in weeks. The hotel will close until further notice, and all guests will be moved to stay elsewhere. They also are closing all the sidewalks around the hotel so they can put up protective coverings for pedestrians. The City is meeting today with the Circuit of the Americas to see if the F1 track will be built after all or not.

7:45 AM: Are you grandparents on Facebook?  Nationally, 22% of Grandparents have facebook accounts.

7:53 AM: 2 minute topic. A poll found that on average, women say 13 negative things about their bodies every day. Sara and Cass totally relate, and feel like that statistic seems about right.

8:00 AM: Coast to coast news in 60 seconds.

8:10 AM: Headlines. 1 in 8 men wear their underwear twice before washing it. Half use the sniff test to see if they can re-wear clothes. The average man wears jeans 4-5 times before washing. Single women are more than twice as likely as married women to buy clothes to avoid doing laundry.

8:25 AM: Curb shame. We’ve all had it. It’s when you’re waiting at a cross walk downtown, start to cross, and then decide to stay because the sign doesn’t say you can walk. Then the shame comes when everyone else around you goes, makes it safely across the street, and you’re stuck on the curb.

8:30 AM: 4 things you need to know with Sara. 6,000 people will move to Austin in July and August, making our population growth 2x the national average.  Newsweek has digitally altered a picture of Kate Middleton to look like she is walking down the street with Princess Diana if she were still alive and 50 years old today. Sarah Palin is saying she hasn’t made up her mind yet if she’s running or not for President, but her daughter Bristol said in an interview that her mom has already decided she is running.

8:45 AM: JB’s rant about tubers.

9:15 AM: Anyone listening who was in a bank while it was robbed, or anyone listening who has ever hit those big orange barrels you see diving a highway?  One man was in a bank while it was robbed, but he said the whole thing was very calm and not at all like what you see in the movies. He said he was able to sneak out when then robber was sitting down, and the police made him go to a nearby safe place.  A woman said she hit two of those barrels on the highway and all that happened was her car got a good washing because they’re filled with water.

9:30 AM: 4 things you need to know with Sara. Brad Womack and Emily have officially broken up, and this will be on the cover of People magazine soon. Zilker Hillside Theatre is threatened due to lack of funding, and plan to do Footloose this year and The Sound of Music next summer. Charlie Sheen is single now, as both of his goddesses have left him. When the last goddess left, he wanted back the Mercedes he bought her. Another panel shattered on the W hotel yesterday, making for the third incident in weeks.
