We might get rain!!!!

  • Tropical Storm Don is moving across the Gulf of Mexico toward Corpus Cristi.
  • That gives us a nice 40% chance of rain Saturday in central Texas.

Charlie Sheen getting PAID

  • Charlie Sheen is having a roast on Comedy Central on Sept 19th and is getting paid $2 million!
  • On that same night the new 2 ½ men is starting with Ashton Kutcher.
  • Ashton has been using Sarah Silverman to coach him on sitcom timing…he hasn’t worked in TV in awhile and wants to be pro!

6:15 AM: Fact or bull fact. Glenn Close’s father was a doctor in Africa. Tabloid Magazines got their name because like “tabs” (pills) they are easy to swallow. The average person goes to the bathroom 6 times a day. At a point in the 9-‘s, 1 in every 2 CDs made was an AOL installation disc.

6:30 AM: 4 things you need to know with Sara. Julia Roberts ads have been banned in the UK because they are so overly photo shopped. Alex Trebek ruptured his Achilles tendon chasing a burglar down the hallway of his hotel, and had to do his show on crutches yesterday. Austin Energy has hit a record this month. Customers set a record for the most energy used in any July ever. Also, there are more than 13 million dollars in unpaid bills.

6:40 AM: Happy Birthday today to Soldier Boy (21), Afroman (37), Elizabeth Berkley (39), and Rebecca Laughlin (47).

6:45 AM: A 20 year old Milwaukee man was upset because his girlfriend left him. He asked his friend to shoot him 3 times to make it look like he’d been attacked, which was all in an attempt to get his girlfriend back with sympathy from her. He wasn’t allowed to shoot himself because he was a conflicted felon, so he gave his friend some money and pain pills for payment. His friend shot him in the arm once, and the guy refused to shoot him again even though the man was begging him to shoot him 2 more times. They both got convicted of felonies once their story unraveled at the hospital.  A South Carolina woman loves truck nuts and hung a red pair from the hitch of her truck. Her state has a law banning obscene bumper stickers, and she was ticketed by the police because they felt that it fell into that law. She will go to court, because the police are hoping that the judge will support their decision to outlaw truck nuts in the state.

7:00 AM: Coast to coast news in 60 seconds.

7:10 AM: Anyone listening who has a name for their phone? Amy calls hers “the magic box”, and whenever they need to use it to look something up they say “lets ask the magic box”.  Crystal called in and said she doesn’t have a name for her phone, but the guy driving in front of her right now in a Camry has decided to name his car “Blue Thunder”, as it’s written in big white letters all over the car.

7:20 AM: JB has found that he thinks is the best appetizer in Austin. He and his wife like it so much that they have gone 3 times in one week to eat it. It’s at Imperia at 4th and Colorado and it’s grilled sea bass on a skewer with a miso dipping sauce. They do half price appetizers during their happy hour, so go check it out. Sandy’s is the Avocado Kama at Mushashino. Alex’s is the waffle and cheese fries at Pluckers. Sara’s is the bacadidos at Garridos, and Cassiday’s is the buffalo fried pickles at 2nd Bar and Kitchen.

7:30 AM: 4 things you need to know with Sara. We may see rain in Austin Friday night or Saturday morning. There is a 40% chance of rain for those days because of Tropical Storm Don. Charlie Sheen is getting 2 million dollars for his Comedy Central roast. Austin Energy has hit a record this month. Customers set a record for the most energy used in any July ever. Also, there are more than 13 million dollars in unpaid bills. Tonight on TV: Project Runway returns and so does LA Ink.

7:45 AM: We talk to a male listener who has a dilemma. His wife is a stay at home mom and he works 9 hour days M-F. She has told him that Monday, Wednesday, and Friday he has to take their 2 children out of the home from 5 to 7 pm every day so she can read.

8:00 AM: Coast to coast news in 60 seconds.

8:20 AM: Headlines. 71% of women are more likely to have sex if they think they will burn calories while doing it. A naked man was hanging out on his porch, and when the neighbors called the police, they found out something interesting about him. He turned out to be an animal hoarder, and has 25 dead and alive animals in his house.

8:25 AM: Rueben called in because he heard the naked guy story, and had a funny one of his own to share.  This weekend he was letting his dogs out to pee in the backyard and saw a man burglarizing his truck. He chased the man and apprehended him, all while being butt naked.

8:30 AM: 4 things you need to know with Sara. Madonna spent $75,000 on a machine to get rid of cellulite. Chris Tucker was on Jay Leno’s show last night and did the worst ever Bill Clinton impression but had a great story about him. He said on a trip to Africa with Bill Clinton, Bill made Chris do impressions of him for everyone they came across. A fire near Hamilton Pool started yesterday around 2 pm. Alex Trebek ruptured his Achilles tendon chasing a burglar down the hallway of his hotel, and had to do his show on crutches yesterday.

8:40 AM: What did you find out the truth about and it let you down? For Sandy it was the movie Rudy. He interviewed Joe Montana once, who was on that team with Rudy and he said it wasn’t at all how the movie portrayed it. For Sara it was Santa, and she was upset about it even all the way into High School. Alex was upset when he found out the backdrop of the original ACL TV Show wasn’t a real skyline of Austin.

8:56 AM: 2 minute topic. 1 in 10 people would let a neighbor live with them if they were in financial trouble. Sandy would, but none of the rest of us would. JB thinks it would stress his wife out too much, and Sandy said if he did it, it’d be for only a week or two. 45% will help neighbors look for work, 44% will cook them a meal.

9:00 AM: Coast to coast news in 60 seconds.

9:25 AM: Tomorrow’s show—Six Flags tickets, Cecily Knobler movie Reviews, The Week in Review.

9:30 AM: 4 things you need to know with Sara.

6:00 AM: There was a shooting on South Congress last night near the Austin Motel at 9 pm. McDonalds is chancing the happy meal by getting rid of half of the fries and replacing them with fruit. The most valuable bottle of wine was sold for $117,000 in an auction. It’s an 1811 vintage from Bordeaux France and the buyer who is a sommelier, plans to drink it.

6:15 AM: Things you kids may never ever know about; putting a VHS into a VCR to watch or record something, the number of TV channels being a single digit, minidiscs/laser discs/betamax, watching TV when the networks say you should (DVRs rule now), wires, the buzz of the dot matrix printer, joysticks, using a real encyclopedia, using a road atlas, CB radios, payphones, fax machines, vacuum machines with bags in them, and roller skates.

6:30 AM: 4 things you need to know with Sara. Denise Richards was on The View yesterday and they asked her what weird things she found when she moved into Charlie Sheen’s bachelor pad at the beginning of their relationship. She said there was a fire pole, panic room, and a bullet proof door to the bedroom. Around 3:45 pm yesterday at the downtown Starbucks a woman grabbed the tip jar, hit a lady in the face, and stole her wallet. A man stopped her outside and held her down until the police came. By Labor Day, they will change the parking meters downtown and make them so we have to pay to use them until midnight.

6:45 AM: Happy Birthday today to Alex Rodriguez (36), Maya Rudolph (39), and Bill Engvall.

6:55 AM: Headlines. Someone has created a Casey Anthony latex mask for Halloween and it’s on Ebay right now.  We think a cheap version of this will be out by Halloween, and there will probably be a lot of people dressed up as her for Halloween. Yesterday morning at 1 AM a woman in Madison Wisconsin took her dog to the dog park. She let her dog off the leash, and a man appeared and began to attack her. Her dog got aggressive with the guy, and he ran away before he could assault the woman.

7:00 AM: Coast to coast news in 60 seconds.

7:06 AM: Anyone listening who has been with their partner for a long time but never married them? We ask because Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed have been together 28 years and are just now planning to get married. Yvonne and her man have been together for 17 years, but still live in separate home and have never married. Kim has been with her man for 13 years but they’ve never married because she’s Italian and Catholic and he is Thai and Buddhist. Krystal and her man have 3 kids together but haven’t ever gotten married because it seems like a hassle. Michelle’s parents were together for 25 years before they got married last year.

7:20 AM: Grandma Shook.  Sara asked her about drugs because of Amy Winehouse’s recent passing. Sara wanted to know if the drugs of today were around back then. She said that she had never heard of cocaine in her youth, but she did hear of marijuana. She smelled marijuana once when the windows were open and someone across the street was having a party. Grandma said they did smoke cigarettes though, because everyone was doing it. Sara also asked her did people diet growing up. She said everyone was skinny then, and she doesn’t remember anyone ever being on a diet. She said it’s probably because everyone did home cooked meals and fast food didn’t really exist.

7:30 AM: 4 things you need to know with Sara. Playmate Crystal Harris was on the Howard Stern show and said they only ever had sex once and it lasted 2 seconds. Copper Thieves hit up the Flying Saucer on Lamar and stole from each of the 6 a/c units on the roof, but they have no idea who did it. The U.S. Postal Service is thinking of closing 3,700 post offices over the next year to help with their budget deficit. The names of the jurors on the Casey Anthony trial will be sealed for 3 months to protect them.

7:45 AM: “Give me someone to follow” update. On Monday Alex told JB to follow Adam Schefter on twitter, but yesterday JB asked for a re-do. Alex told him to follow Adam Corolla. Sara told Sandy to follow Seth Meyers from Saturday Night Live, and Sandy doesn’t like him. So Cassiday told him to follow @jennyjohnsonhi5.

7:57 AM: Sandy bought 11 pairs of new underwear yesterday, went home and threw away everything he had that was old.  His 2 minute topic for us is “do you wash new underwear before you wear it?”.  The guys don’t because their underwear comes out of a freshly opened plastic bag. For the ladies it’s a little different because their underwear has been touched by a lot of hands by the time they buy it.

8:00 AM: Coast to coast news in 60 seconds.

8:10 AM:  In Seoul Sorth Korea a skyscraper began to shake violently, and the building was evacuated. For 2 days experts examined the building to figure out what it was, and it wasn’t an earthquake….no, it was 23 people taking a Tae Bo Class in the building. A 63 year old man in Glendale California tried to perform surgery on himself at home. He had a hernia and decided to cut himself open with a butter knife to try and fix the hernia on his own. His wife called the cops and they rushed him to the hospital and stitched him up.

8:20 AM: JB bought an iPad, and is already thinking about returning it.

8:30 AM: 4 things you need to know with Sara. Kat Von D got Jesse James’ 5th grade school picture tattooed under her arm and their engagement was announced to be called off yesterday. WalMart has added VuDu, a movie streaming service, and it will compete with NetFlix. There was a shooting on South Congress last night near the Austin Motel at 9 pm. Denise Richards was on The View yesterday and they asked her what weird things she found when she moved into Charlie Sheen’s bachelor pad at the beginning of their relationship.

8:40 AM: JB sat down and talked to Erin about what the last 3 weeks has been like without Raleigh being home. She said she’s enjoyed spending more time with JB, not having a schedule, and having the days be more casual. JB then badgered her for a very long time

9:00 AM: Coast to coast news in 60 seconds.

9:15 AM: Replay–“Give me someone to follow” update.

9:23 AM: An Austinite named Milton Verret paid 1.5 million dollars to buy the original Michael Jackson “Thriller” jacket, and it’s in the studio with us right now. He is a collector of all types of rock and roll artifacts, and he is using this jacket to help kids out. It will be on display tonight at The Long Center to kick off the cow parade. For a small donation tonight you’ll be able to get a picture with the jacket, and all the proceeds will go to children’s charities.

9:45 AM: Tomorrow on the show JB will tell us the best appetizer in Austin, we’ll talk to a man who is upset with a new rule his wife wants to make in their household, what were people upset when they learned the truth about, and so much more!

Ted and I had an extra special Taco Tuesday night. It turned into
Bud Light Burrito night….

Bud Light Burrito
- 1lb of hamburger 90/10
(you could also use ground turkey or chicken)
-
Taco seasoning packet / or if you have a free shake, like what  I used, until the hamburger is coated
- Bottle of Bud Light…
-Shredded cheese of your choice
- sour cream/ could also use plain fat free Greek yogurt if you’re cooking healthier with the ground chicken/turkey.
-Burrito shells
*chopped onions, peppers, lettuce, tomato, beans… are optional depending on what you like

*Brown hamburger (you could also add chopped onion and pepper). Drain the grease from the hamburger. Put the hamburger back on the heat and add the Taco seasoning  about 1/2 to 2/3  of a 12oz bottle of Bud Light. Simmer about 10-15 minutes, until the Bud Light has cooked down in the meat. While your burrito mixture is simmering pour a bit of Bud Light on 2 paper towels and put the shells in between the paper towels.  Microwave for about 20- 30 seconds, just enough for the shells to come out moist and warm.
When the mixture is ready take off the heat, and start creating your Bud Light Burritos.
We made a meat, cheese and sour cream Bud Light Burrito. Of course you can add tomatos, lettuce, beans, whatever you love in your burritos.  Bud Light Burritos are great for dinner, and would Rock a tailgate party! Have Fun & Enjoy!

Bud Light- A sure sign of a ‘Yummy’ Good Time-
Here we go!!!
